PROBUS Global is an international association of retired individuals who embrace ongoing learning and experiences while socializing with others. There are over 4,000 international clubs of which approximately 250 are in Canada and 10 in Alberta. The PROBUS Club movement started in the United Kingdom in 1965 and continues to grow internationally. The Association operates in a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit manner with many autonomous clubs operating throughout the world. Local clubs provide regular opportunities for members to meet others in similar circumstances, with similar areas of interest. They establish new friendships and expand their interests and social network. Spouses of club members often participate in social activities or join the club.
The PROBUS South Edmonton club has over 100 members and continues to welcome new members. Our monthly General Meeting is held the fourth Tuesday of each month (except December) at the
Ramada Hotel by Wyndham Edmonton South,
 5359 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton.
We come together over coffee to hear invited speakers on a variety of topics. Often lunch plans are in place following the meeting.
In addition to the speaker series there are a number of special interest groups including tours and events including cultural events, dining experiences, and visits to local points of interest. A monthly book club reviews and discusses books selected by the group. The monthly meeting and membership activities generate goodwill and a sense of fellowship and community amongst the members. Our members bring rich and diverse backgrounds, interests and experiences to our club which make for interesting discussions. We have a great environment to foster Fellowship, Fun and Friendship with other retirees in the community.
